![]() The recipe also uses a little milk and sugar for that creamsicle flavor, and finishes up with some ice cubes to give you still more of that icy smoothie texture. Keeping it in its icy form gives your drink more texture. This recipe uses orange juice concentrate, not thawed. ![]() Instead I stuck with the recipe I found in my old cookbook that made a delicious whipped orange drink that was creamy and frothy enough for me. I opted not to mess around with eggs for my homemade Orange Julius. The popular Top Secret Recipes website has a copycat of an Orange Julius that uses egg whites in an attempt at the frothiness too. So what’s the secret to that creaminess and frothiness?īut this page with nutrition facts for the Orange Julius makes mention of egg white solids and whey powder. When you order one, they mix it up in one of their blenders that go at super-duper high speeds, making everything – – creamy and frothy. It’s sold by the Dairy Queen/Orange Julius chain, often located within shopping malls. If you’re not familiar with an Orange Julius, it is indeed a creamy frothy orange drink that has a flavor a lot like an orange creamsicle (one of my favorite flavors!). Customers would come in and say “Give me an Orange, Julius” and the new name for the drink was born. But it wasn’t until a friend of his who was a chemist came up with an idea a few years later for an orange drink with a creamy frothy texture that things really took off. Julius Freed opened his shop selling fresh orange juice in Los Angeles in 1926. That’s because the Orange Julius drink has been around for a long time too. In fact I found today’s recipe in a church cookbook I’ve had for over 20 years! Figuring out how to make your own Orange Julius isn’t a new idea.

![]() The designers of the 1962 D-17B guidance computer used diode-resistor logic as much as possible, to minimize the number of transistors used. The circuits were capable of reliably switching pulses as narrow as one microsecond. All input and output signals were compatible. A single card would hold four two-way circuits or three three-way or one eight-way. In the mid 1950s, diode logic was used in the IBM 608 which was the first all-transistorized computer in the world. Up until 1952, IBM manufactured transistors by modifying off-the-shelf germanium diodes, after which they had their own alloy-junction transistor manufacturing plant at Poughkeepsie. The PNP and NPN transistor symbols are those used by IBM. Q1's collector current will be essentially zero, so R2 will pull the output voltage Q high (logic 1 near V+).Įarly diode logic with transistor inverter NAND and NOR DTL logic circuits as used on IBM 608 cards. R3 and R4 then act as a voltage divider that makes Q1's base voltage negative and consequently turns off Q1. If either or both inputs are low, then at least one of the input diodes conducts and pulls the voltage at the anodes to a value less than about 2 volts. The turned on transistor's collector current will then pull the output Q low (logic 0 V CE(sat), usually less than 1 volt). There will be a small positive voltage on the base of Q1 (V BE, about 0.3 V for germanium and 0.6 V for silicon). Resistors R1 and R3 will then supply enough current to turn on Q1 (drive Q1 into saturation) and also supply the current needed by R4. If both inputs A and B are high (logic 1 near V+), then the diodes D1 and D2 are reverse biased. ![]() The DTL circuit shown in the first picture consists of three stages: an input diode logic stage (D1, D2 and R1), an intermediate level shifting stage (R3 and R4), and an output common-emitter amplifier stage (Q1 and R2). It is called so because the logic gating functions AND and OR are performed by diode logic, while logical inversion (NOT) and amplification (providing signal restoration) is performed by a transistor (in contrast with RTL and TTL). R3, R4 and V− shift the positive output voltage of the input DL stage below the ground (to cut off the transistor at low input voltage).ĭiode–transistor logic ( DTL) is a class of digital circuits that is the direct ancestor of transistor–transistor logic. Generally Bitcoin or sometimes other ways to pay. This is where NZB’s come in which is kind like like a torrent file. Now that you have Usenet service, you need to be able to FIND those files. Of course you can use whatever Usenet servers you want. This info would be placed for example in the NZBGet program under NEWS-SERVERS. You can have 40 connections at once, and encrypt everything by using port 563 and turning on Encryption. What is great is they’re pretty cheap! Only $50 per year. But in general you need to pay for a Usenet service. But the risks are higher and so you need to be behind a VPN. So really one does torrents and the other does NZB’s. Well if you go to a NZB site, you can search for the same in the same way, and it’ll give you a nzb file that you can use to download that movie or tv show you want with a program that works with NZB’s. So say you go to the Pirate Bay, you enter something, it gives you a list of file you can grab, you click on the magnet which is the torrent file, which is just a text file with stuff in it, not the real program, and it tells it where to go and starts downloading the real file. So to download files from Usenet, you need to know what the name is and where. I think Charlotte had character flaws, as a girlfriend she would be a huge red flag with sirens all over, but I think in terms of how the girls completely blamed her and lewis everytime something went wrong made me sympathize with Charlotte a bit, especially when they blamed Charlotte for wanting to be like her grandma and not really letting her know her grandma's identity. Yes they’re annoying but with a Secret THAT big, gatekeeping is a must!! And he should trust the intuition of mystical creatures. I agree with the girls with this being majority of Lewis fault. And don’t even get me started how Lewis is overly patient with her and should have just stayed away the whole time. I stg I felt so bad for Ronnie and then she flips on Cleo calling Ronnie a stupid fish? How are you the “one real mermaid” when you don’t even appreciate the sea & it’s creatures… Ronnie isn’t stupid like you’re just cocky and weird. But all she did was be rude back and act like the girls were “jealous” like jealous of what? Powers they all have? She is the worst!! She’s like screaming in the marine park hurting Ronnie the dolphin meanwhile Ronnie is doing NOTHING threatening. She has always had it out for Cleo and the girls did try to be patient with her and help her with her new powers. She thinks she literally knows everything. She doesn’t listen to anyone but her big a** head. Omg I hate her! She literally broke into Cleo’s room. Seriously, I watch S2 and can't understand how anyone can say Charlotte was the villain. Or when they decided to test whether Charlotte was a mermaid by spilling water on her in the middle of the JuiceNet, which, if she really was a mermaid, would have immediately resulted in her being taken away and dissected?Īnd when Charlotte finally became a mermaid, instead of realising immediately how all the things that happened to her that season was Cleo's doing, and being mad at her, she instead was genuinely happy that there would be no more secrets and she even tells Lewis "oh, I was a bit jealous because I thought Cleo was possessive of you, but I now realise it was because of the mermaid thing, so we can all be friends" (even though, again, Cleo really was possessive of Lewis and her jealousy was rather justified) And the whole episode Lewis tries to explain himself to her as if he owed her an explanation for living his life. ![]() Or when Cleo ruined Lewis and Charlotte's day (and a business opportunity for her father) just because she disagreed with Lewis having a gf, even though she broke up with him. And after an entire episode in which he's almost been arrested because of them, he not only keeps the secret, but gives Cleo that job back as if she deserved it. Like that time they tried to get him fired just because "nobody deserved that job but Cleo". That whole season they have been nothing but rude and possessive to the point of sociopathy. That’s not great and I wish Samsung would have used a FullHD screen. ![]() It means that the pixel density is the same as on typical 8-inch tablets with a standard HD resolution. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite has an 8.7-inch LCD with a resolution of 1340 x 800 pixels. But, obviously, you’ll get much better bass and a more pleasing sound with most pricier tablets. Considering its price, I think the sound is fine. I like that we get two speakers that offer a real stereo separation. Photos look fine but the video looks over-sharpened. And the same goes for the 8-megapixel main camera. In fact, especially the HD video out of that camera looks a bit blurry. The 2-megapixel webcam is not great at all. There’s no fingerprint scanner but you can unlock it using the webcams facial recognition. It has a standard headphone jack, a USB C 2.0 port, and a microSD card slot. That’s what you usually want to be able to do with an 8-inch tablet. It’s 8mm thin, weighs 360g, and is narrow enough so that you can hold it in one hand. I like the design and it does look better than the competition from Amazon. We’re getting a mostly metal body with some plastic parts at the top and bottom. We'll loop back when we've finally finished reviewing the S9 Plus.Considering its price, I think the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite is well built. While you can also hunt around for a Tab S8 model on sale, Samsung's already offering up some discounts on the new tablets, too. The tablet can also double as a wireless display, so you can extend your Windows laptop's screen space on the go. ![]() Samsung also includes one of its great S Pens, so you're ready to start sketching and taking notes right out of the box. It's built around a beautiful 12.4-inch, 2,800x1,752-pixel Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother-looking visuals. Samsung's DeX interface gives it an edge for productivity if you're looking for a more laptop-like feel from the tablet. Our favorite is probably this Plus model, which has a big screen that's not too massive. This is essentially the Android equivalent to Apple's iPad Pro, available in three different sizes and prices and all featuring AMOLED displays. The Galaxy Tab S8 Plus was our favorite pick last year, but the newer S9 series arriving in August adds IP68 water and dust resistance and a newer Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. And keep in mind, new iPads are expected this fall, so you might be better off waiting right now if you can. If you're definitely going with an iPad, we strongly recommend you check out the entire iPad lineup because there might be a better option for your needs. There are definite advantages to spending up for newer models, though (multitasking with the M1 processor on the iPad Air, a better front camera on the 10th-gen model iPad, and second-gen Pencil support on iPad Pros and Airs). That's mainly for its position as the lowest-price iPad, which at around $300 offers excellent value. The ninth-gen iPad from 2021 is the best tablet that we continue to recommend, despite the availability of newer iPad models. ![]() But if you're looking for something that's good for productivity and entertainment there's an affordable Chromebook that blurs the line between laptop and tablet. In the value segment, Amazon's Fire tablets remain the best tablet option for cheap and kid-friendly models. The Google Pixel Tablet and OnePlus Pad are excellent and affordable options that are good for family or home use (Pixel Tablet) or as a personal mini-laptop (OnePlus Pad), and the slates in Samsung's newest Galaxy Tab S9 series, while expensive, all have excellent AMOLED displays. Meanwhile, Android tablets have made a comeback. ![]() However, the updated look and features come with a higher price, so Apple is still selling the ninth-gen iPad as its least expensive option. Along with faster processors across all of the latest models, Apple introduced the 10th-gen iPad with an entirely new design. Let's start with Apple, which updated its entire iPad lineup in 2022. Finding the best tablet isn't hard, either, but knowing where to start can be overwhelming, and that's where CNET's testing and reviews can help.
